28-Year-Old New Jersey Man Nailed on DWI Charge After Crashing Into Sloatsburg Salon
RAMAPO – According to the police, a 28-year-old New Jersey man is facing charges of DUI after he lost control of his motor vehicle and crashed into a storefront at a Sloatsburg strip mall. The incident happened on Sunday morning.
Around 9:50 a.m., Ramapo police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at 65 Orange Turnpike. After approaching the accident spot, officers found a 2001 Honda Civic that had plowed through the front of Golden Nails and Spa, ruining the entrance and totally damaging manicure and pedicure stations, as well as a jewelry cabinet.
Luckily, the business was closed when the incident happened. No individual sustained injuries in the accident.
According to an estimate by a manager, the nail salon sustained about $30,000 in damages. The business will remain shut down for the next few days for repairs.
The driver of the motor vehicle, Abraham Andrade of Ramsey, was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor and taken to police headquarters for processing.
In an unconnected incident, Ramapo police announced the arrest of Lucas K. Attebery of Piermont on a misdemeanor charge of DWI after a traffic stop at 9 a.m. on Murray Drive in Airmont.
