43-year-old alleged drunken driver spits on cop
David Brotzman, 43, who was allegedly driving under the influence on a northwestern New Jersey highway, resisted being taken into custody and also spit on a police officer, according to the authorities.
He is charged with multiple counts, including aggravated assault on a police officer, arising from last week’s traffic stop on Route 46 in Hackettstown.
He didn’t come out of his vehicle when asked to do so by the police officer and he then grabbed onto the steering wheel and wedged his foot into the door jamb of the vehicle so he couldn’t be removed from the vehicle. After being taken to the police headquarters, he spit on the officer and kicked a table into an officer.
On Monday, a telephone number for Brotzman could not be located.
