Jersey City man charged with DUI in West New York
WEST NEW YORK – According to police reports, a Jersey City man has been charged with DUI after going through a stop sign.
23-year-old Hector Arguijo Hernandez of Jersey City was arrested by police when he went through a stop sign on 58th Street near Palisade Avenue. After stopping his car, police approached him and observed the odor of alcohol coming from his vehicle. Hernandez also failed to provide any identification and other paperwork which the police officers demanded.
Hernandez then refused to perform a field sobriety test when asked by the police. In response, he replied that “he knew a lawyer” and that “he only had a few beers.”
The incident took place at 2.20 a.m.
Authorities charged Hernandez with driving without a license, driving under the influence, driving under the influence in a school zone and refusal to submit to a breath test.
