New Jersey man charged with DUI in Killington
KILLINGTON – 22-year-old Travis Hudson, a New Jersey man, is facing multiple charges after crashing his vehicle while driving under the influence on Saturday morning.
On 31st of March, he is summoned to Rutland criminal court to answer charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, providing fake information to police and fleeing the scene of an accident.
According to the police, state police responded to a report of an accident on Roaring Brook Road where they found an abandoned Honda CR-V, off the road and surrounded by beer cans at about 8:24 a.m. The vehicle had traveled off the road and hit several signs and trees but the driver was not present there.
Hudson went to the State Police Barracks in Rutland where he denied drinking before the accident despite the fact that he was appearing under the influence, according to the police.
Other than the criminal charges, police also issued Hudson tickets for failing to stay on the road and for leaving beer cans and other debris at the scene of the abandoned vehicle.
