New Jersey Teacher Accused In Drunk-Driving Crash Indicted
LODI, N.J. – A New Jersey teacher accused in a drunk-driving accident was arraigned for the offense.
As a result of the accident that happened in April on Route 46 in Lodi, Michael Ettz faces aggravated assault and other charges.
According to prosecutors, Ettz left Bergen County police officer Daniel Breslin, 39, with a fractured skull and other injuries after striking his cruiser.
Breslin was stopped in his cruiser alongside the other officer’s car at about 1:50 a.m. near Summit Avenue, helping him with a broken radio when his car was rear-ended by Ettz’s vehicle.
Breslin required surgery and was hospitalized in serious condition as the injuries he sustained were life-threatening.
The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission confirmed that Ettz had his driver’s license suspended on 19th of November 2012 for a previous OWI conviction.
