Official Fired After Drug, DWI arrest
A municipal official has lost his job after being arrested on drunken driving and drug charges.
Passaic Business Administrator Anthony Iacono was fired Friday morning, several hours after he was taken into custody following a traffic stop in nearby Hoboken at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday.
Hoboken police Chief Anthony Falco told The Jersey Journal that after the 48-year-old got out of his vehicle, he tried to push something into a snow bank while being questioned by officers. Falco said the substance was cocaine.
Passaic Mayor Alex Blanco said he was saddened by the incident, but decided to dismiss Iacono due to his admin-istration’s “zero-tolerance” policy for misconduct.
