Toms River man charged with Drunk Driving after he was found Asleep at the Wheel
27 year old Nicholas Healy was arrested and charged with drunk driving after police found him dozing with his motor vehicle running.
Nicholas Healy of Tomas River was recently charged with driving under the influence after police found him passed out in his Honda Civic in a parking lot of Cedar Creek Garden Center.
According to Detective Sgt. James J. Smith, “His head was resting on the steering wheel and the car was running.”
Patrolman Scott Rudolph arrested Nicholas Healy at 2:57 a.m. on Oct. 7 in the parking lot of the garden center on Route 9 South.
“When officers arrived, they detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage,” Smith said. “They found a 40-ounce bottle of Budweiser in the car and determined he had been drinking in the vehicle.”
The officers took Healy to police headquarters and impounded his car.
Apart from facing charges for driving under the influence, Healy was also charged with driving with an open container of alcohol.
