Two Southern New Jersey Police Officers Face DWI Charges
Two southern New Jersey police officers charged with drunken driving will possibly face suspensions.
The incident took place on 3 September, 2014, when the two police officers’ vehicle struck a church.
Officer Michael McLaughlin and officer Charles Twigg, both from Millville were off duty when the accident happened. The vehicle they were riding in belonged to Twigg but McLaughlin was driving it. When their vehicle hit the church, both officers were thrown from the vehicle.
McLaughlin sustained several injuries in the accident and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Twigg was offered medical assistance which he declined.
Twigg returned to work later but McLaughlin stayed at the hospital and was still recovering from his injuries.
